Check out the Rally Hebrides FACEBOOK page for regular updates
Stage Info:
Once again we are lucky to have the permission of hte Mackenzie family at Melbost Farm to run this stage, unfortunatley the new housing development at Parkend has had an impact on the finishing part of the stage. The orgaising team are working away to look at the options.
Once again Stornoway Trust have given permission to use the Castle Grounds. unfortunatly the refurbishment of the Castle over the coming months may have an impact - with contratcors coming on site in the next couple of weeks the team will be able to take the development and decisions on the proposed route of this stage after discussions with the Contrator |
An update on the current situation:
Lewis Car Club committee have taken on the role of Rally Management for 2012, this is different from previous years wherby the senior posts were taken up by individuals. To ease the burden on those volunteers the committee as a whole have taken on the management responsibility. With that in mind - recent meeting have taken place and additional volunteers have c...ome forward to help with the administration, operation and financial managment of the event , and LCC committee are gratefull to those that have come forward and offered their services to ease the workload.
Again we have asked Macmillan Cancer Support (Western Isles) if they would be willing to work alongside us to ensure the event goes as planned.
The following Key personnel have volunteered their services for 2012: Lewis Castle Grounds : Stage commander Ali Macleod, Ali and his team step up from 2010&2011 where they sucessfully managed the logistics of deliverying a sucessfull scruitineering event.
Melbost Farm : Once again Jim Currie and his team have volunteered to take on the Melbost Farm stage, having been the stage commander on this highly sucessfull stage for the last two years, the team know exactly what is required.
Lewis Karting Centre: Once again Frank Burns has volunteered to take on this role, again having been the stage commander here for the last couple of years , Frank and the boys have this stage well setup and run.
Scruitineering: John Clark and Sean Sinclair have volunteered to take on the organisation of the scruitineering. Both of these guys were key members of Rally Hebrides 2011 and although stepping up - will in no way be overwhelmed with the task.
Finance: Andy White as club Treasurer has taken on a very small crew to deal with the financial aspects of the event. It was very dishartening for all involved in RH2011 not to be able to exceed the amount raised in 2010. |
